Way back in May of 2012 we did an artist interview with Nicholas Kay. Nick first came to our attention with his piece Black Templar: The Crusade Begins!. Not only was the piece extremely impressive in and of itself but Nick also documented the whole process and made a series of YouTube tutorials. Nick continued to work on his art, doing tutorials and live streams regularly. However, it didn’t take long before he found himself working as a full time concept artist at Privateer Press. After five years working in the industry Nick has started to get back into live streaming and has set up a Patreon. I’ll pass it over to Nick to explain.

Hi, my name's Nicholas Kay and I'm a freelance digital artist working in the video and tabletop gaming industries. While I'm best known for my work on various Games Workshop games, such as Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar, I've also worked for studios like Blizzard, Bungie, Valve, Zenimax, and others.

I'm hoping that with your support, this Patreon will enable me to continue creating inspirational art, as well as to devote more time to educating aspiring artists with tutorials once more. Furthermore, I'd like to share with you all some of the miniature art I create when time permits; miniatures and tabletop games introduced me to the gaming world at the age of eight and have continued to be a passion of mine ever since.

Currently, I stream my digital art three times a week for two hours per session, you can find me over on my Twitch channel. Also, I do random miniature painting sessions where I work on my own private collection. For those who like to watch things on demand, I also have a YouTube channel where I upload all of my streams.

Thanks for your support!

-Nick

Howdy y'all! As some of you may have noticed submissions haven't been going through for the past few months and our galleries have been eerily quite. This is of course due to that ever present distraction we all encounter from time to time: life. But we are back! To all who submitted and received no reply, sorry about that!

We look forward to seeing all of the amazing work that the community will produce this year.

Until next time!
